More outdoor junk....

Tomorrow (May 14, 2011, starting at 8:00 a.m...the java will be brewed long before that!) is sale day and it feels like snow!  You gotta love spring in North Dakota...

Here is some more outdoor junk.  The green and orange together are really growing on me.

It looks like the wild, wild west overtook our carriage house!

Below is my "playhouse" (Gregg built it for me out of reclaimed barn wood and salvaged porch posts).  Isn't it awesome??  It's full of treasures for the sale tomorrow!

Outdoor Junk

Today I am posting pics of some of our rustic outdoor junk.  I know, the colors look more like fall than spring...I think it has something to do with the cool, cloudy, dreary day we are having...

Industrial Style Junk

Check out this awesome old industrial warehouse cart.  It has been degreased, coated with poly, and is ready to use as a coffee table in your home (Again, having a little separation anxiety here people!!)

Below is homemade industrial style cart.  It's a cutie too!  The old metal fire chief pedal car frame is just too much, isn't it?  This would be perfect tucked into a rock garden with plants growing out of it (very tempted to keep it!!)

Apparently there was a sale on poly, because this neat old grist mill got a coat (or two, or three, or four) too.

The poly king (Gregg) must have run out of product.  This "heavy metal" pail is all nat-u-ral.

Sewing Junk

Today is sewing junk day.  Don't tilt your head...the black swinging doors are hung on an angle.  This display features an old sewing machine base with a wood table top.  It's perfect with the pink and green McCoy pottery flower pots and other "gardeny" items.

Here is a well worn cutter quilt in a vintage seafoam green sewing basket.

Big old wooden spools are just fun to look at and are great fill-in pieces in your displays.

This whole old cupboard (which weighs about 2  tons and is not going anywhere) is filled with old, vintage sewing related items.

I don't care if you sew or not (I don't, even though I took home-ec in high school), this mini Singer sewing machine is the most adorable sewing machine I have ever seen!  It is not a toy, it's a real, working little dynamo.

Kitchen Junk

Today I am posting some of the kitchen junk we will be selling this weekend.  Doesn't this just scream farmhouse?  I love the green mixed in with the red and white.

Here is another neat old cupboard.  It's a little more rustic than the one above, but I think that just adds character, you know, kind of like with people.

I had to add the old tin barn and silo to the rustic cupboard. It reminds me of my childhood...

Okay, really, who doesn't need an old possum bellied baker's table? Maybe we don't bake like we our grandmothers did, but this piece is just stunning. With a new coat of white paint and a hammered silver top, this could be a great center island in your kitchen.

Spring Junk ~ 2011

Do you sense a beach theme today?  I think it's because the winter in North Dakota was so long!!  If I was closer to the beach, I'd be dipping my toes in the water and letting the sand squish between my toes...

Spring Junk ~ 2011

I don't even know what this chippy goose head thing-a-ma-jiggy (that's a word, right?) is for sure, but I like it with the wispy grass and wine bottles.

Spring Junk ~ 2011

There is just something about old, worn, well used oars, blue/green glass, and seashells that just makes me happy...

Spring Junk ~ 2011

I just love this old, primitive (somewhat industrial) cabinet!  (I will admit I'm having a little seperation anxiety over this one....)  It's coated with poly and ready to use.

Spring Junk ~ 2011

It's almost time...for our spring junk sale, and as promised, I will be posting some pics of our wares.  Just to make it interesting, I will post a few each day until sale day.  Enjoy!
